I Got An Offer I ...

I got a phone call from Sydney Buses today offering me a position at the Port Botany depot.

As I said previously, Port Botany is the least convenient for me. I asked for the weekend to think about it but I will say "no, thanks".

I was told I'm number 11 on the queue for Burwood (up from 18 when I checked on July 11th). However, of those 11, 3 have been made offers at other depots (but not yet accepted). Of the remaining 8, only 4 had made Burwood their 1st choice. So I have reason to be optimistic.

I was also told I was number 3 in the queue for Kingsgrove but if I am offered it I will probably decline, given I seem to have a good chance I will get an offer for Burwood shortly.

I phoned Sydney Buses to find out where I am in the queue. I'm 18th for Burwood. The Recruitment Coordinator suggested that I might get a spot in September. Apparently turnover of drivers has been lower than usual for the past 4 months.
